International Standard Version

4 As I am praising him,[a]
    I will call out to the Lord,
        and I will be saved from my enemies.

5 Because deadly breakers[b] engulfed me,
    while torrents of abuse[c] from the ungodly overwhelmed[d] me.
6 Binding ropes from Sheol entangled me
    while lethal snares hindered me.
